About LOKO
Founded in 2016 in Daikanyama, one of the most renown cultural districts in Tokyo, Loko Gallery has a unique space with two exhibition floors which also offers artist residency facilities. Introducing both emerging and seasoned Japanese artists and artists from around the world, Loko Gallery is committed to being a platform for cultivating ideas and to create multidisciplinary dialogues that’s open to the local and the global community.
Artist in residence
We support artists from Japan and abroad to stay temporarily in Japan for their creative activities and research. There are some ancient tombs from the 6th to 7th centuries in Daikanyama, and trendy shops and galleries. It's a pleasure to walk around and explore. When they live in a unique environment and culture, they might get inspired and discoveries. We hope that they will gain experience that will help with their creation. We will announce the details of the program as it becomes available.
Cafe
The cafe is located at the entrance of the LOKO building. We are offering a cup of coffee that blends into the neighborhood's daily life—our main barista, Zenta, trained in Melbourne. You can also enjoy the art exhibition from the seats. Please feel free to stop by. www.zenta.coffee
